Meet Our Physicians Center
William “Bill” Mitchell, MD earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine, Louisville, Kentucky in 1990. He was Chief Fellow at Baptist Hospital in Winston Salem, North Carolina from 1994 to 1995. Dr. Mitchell is a 1986 graduate from Marshall University School of Medicine where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Dr. Mitchell is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology and began practicing at Piedmont Oncology Specialists in 1995. He is actively involved in clinical research studies for various onocologic conditions. Presently he is serving as Chief of Internal Medicine at Presbyterian Hospital-Huntersville, North Carolina. Dr. Mitchell is active with the Mecklenburg Medical Society and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
Dr. Mitchell is married. He and his wife have two children. In his spare time he enjoys fishing, NASCAR racing, baseball, listening to music, and spending time with his family.
R. Dean Butler, MD obtained his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, North Carolina in 1986, with fellowship at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, Division of Medical Oncology and Department of Medicine in 1993. Dr. Butler earned his undergraduate degree from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.
Dr. Butler is Board Certified in Medical Oncology. He is actively involved with numerous clinical research projects. Dr. Butler is a member of the American College of Physicians and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He joined Piedmont Oncology Specialists in 1998.
Dr. Butler is married. He and his wife have three children. In his spare time he enjoys playing tennis, football, listening to music, and spending time with his family.
